Please join the WNDC Global Women's Task Force in a collaborative presentation of the acclaimed film, Half the Sky. The salon version of this tremendously powerful film is presented by WNDC in partnership with Ladies America, UniteWomen.org and the Women's Information Network.
Half the Sky is a powerful documentary based on the acclaimed book by Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn. It tells the story of women and girls in ten countries, living under some of the most difficult circumstances imaginable.
The film highlights the areas of women's access to healthcare, economic empowerment, sex trafficking, forced prostitution, gender-based violence and maternal mortality. The film also offers discussion on sustainable options for empowerment and an actionable blueprint for transformation.
We will view the salon version, created for group viewing and discussion, running 40 minutes. After the film, we will hear from a panel of experts, who will respond to the lively discussion that is sure to follow. We hope to come away from the evening inspired to join in the effort to support solutions, and armed for action.
