Join individual WNDC Members, who are hosting a benefit reception for Kristin Cabral, WNDC Member and Democratic Candidate for Virginia's 10th Congressional District (seat held since 1980 by Republican career politician Frank Wolf).
While Kristin can't possibly match her incumbent fundraising levels, she needs help to fund her GOTV efforts in the 10th District—a key swing district where getting out the vote for Cabral could also turn out votes for Gov. Kaine and President Obama. Not surprisingly, Kristin and her Republican opponent have vastly different views on most issues, but nowhere near as starkly as their stands on Choice. How can Kristin win on this one issue alone? For starters, Virginia’s 10th district is one of the most pro-choice districts in the state. A recent poll shows further that:
- A majority of people identify with pro-choice positions
- Very few voters agree with Fran Wolf’s extreme views on women’s rights; and
- Voters react extremely negative when they hear Frank Wolf’s views on the issue
With only 17% of the seats in Congress, we need more women—and more women like Kristin Cabral. It’s going to take a whole lot of grassroots energy to win on November 6th, but with your help, it’s possible to help OUR OWN WNDC MEMBER bring some common sense back to Washington!
