Marcia Greenberger, a founder and co-president of The National Women’s Law Center is known as the first full-time women's rights legal advocate in Washington, D.C.
Greenberger is a recognized expert on women and the law, particularly in the areas of education and employment, health and reproductive rights, and family economic security. She has been a leader in securing the passage of major legislation, the counsel in landmark litigation establishing new legal protections for women, and the author of numerous published articles.
She recently received the 2012 Margaret Brent Women Lawyers of Achievement Award at the American Bar Association's annual meeting in Chicago. The award honors outstanding women lawyers who have achieved professional excellence and paved the way to success for others, and previous winners include Supreme Court Justices Sandra Day O'Connor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
